Mark Crawford

Mark Crawford is a successful innovator who has worked with some of the UK’s best loved food brands and set up and ran a fast growth premium pet food company in 2007.

Mark’s love of innovation began when he was given the chance to turn around a failing fruit juice business. He grabbed this is both hands and within twelve months took the division through a complete restructuring to achieve break-even – the business having lost several hundred thousand pounds the year before.

Three years as Senior Brand Manager – Snack Bars – at Jordans saw Mark managing very successful new product launches as well as two TV campaigns, a national radio campaign and developing category plans for the major retailers, when category management was an emerging art
A move to Mars Horsecare as Marketing Manager had Mark completely redesign the well loved horse food brand Spillers – with lessons on cherishing loyal customers whilst exciting new market entrants being learnt through direct feedback (have you ever met a pony club mum?)

The opportunity to set up his own business came through a partnership with TV vet Joe Inglis. Pets’ Kitchen was a highly successful venture and Mark led the company as MD. Raising over £1 million of seed funding, winning a number of investment prizes and growing the brand to over £2 milllion – and growing at 146% year on year – were just some of the highlights of this venture

Mark left in the summer of 2009 to pursue other opportunities and set up ConsultingMC to help and advise companies that are looking to grow their businesses – and when required to get on and do it as well!
Following twenty years experience in the food industry, Mark is able to draw on a number of skilled and effective partners – meaning ConusltingMC is able to provide the full range of services from short-term strategy and advice sessions through to longer term project management and implementation teams.
